A long day trip to Leavenworth yesterday had a bit of everything: projecting, progress, new boulders, new problems and late-day success for at least one member of the team. We spent the hotter part of the day exploring the two new large boulders deposited by the slide. There are a few good problems, and at least one real classic that makes the hike very worthwhile. But it was pretty crowded:
A big thanks to the folks who spent so much time cleaning those boulders off! They are caked in smelly mud, but underneath is solid granite that is unusually smooth for Leavenworth. We hiked way up the slide, to find "the source" but it just keeps going, up to the heavens, and would have been quite an amazing disaster to witness.
Towards the end of the day, when the rest of us were feeling all worn out and whiny, Bryan Smith put the cob to the Lonely Fish boulder:
nice video adam! sick climbing bryan! the music really fills out the soul adam. :) great to hang last night.
